Summary: What was the listening selection about?
Professor is a title normally given to a teacher at a university or college, because they have more studies than normal teacher. Teacher is more general word, which refers to the professional  who educates (teaches) others. Good Morning, Good afternoon, good evening, good night. We will simply say morning, evening, afternoon, and night. To gather is to bring together (acumulate) things/ people at one location. Also, to gather around is common phrasal verb, and it can normally be heard  as a command by itself (alone).

1.  Gaining :  that gives you an advantage
2. Petrified : extremely frightened
3. Used to : done or experienced in the past, but no longer done or experienced
4. Fatal : A fatal illness, accident, etc.
5. Seedlings : a very young plant that has grown from a seed
6. Earmuffs : a pair of small pieces of material like fur worn over the ears with a strap that goes over the head to keep them on
